Our Students

Our students range in age from 4 to 16 years and come from a range of backgrounds:

Some speak German language at home
Some have one German speaking parent or grandparent
Some were born in Germany, Austria or Switzerland.
Some have lived there, or visit from time to time
About ten percent are from a non-German background

The school has a growing population of around 100 students from all areas of Melbourne. The school is committed to providing programs that build on what students know, and that take account of different ways and rates of learning. Student progress is reported formally at the end of each year and parents, students, and teachers communicate regularly on an informal basis.

We recognise the importance of the family in each child’s continued learning through involving, informing and including. We maintain a positive, friendly, caring environment where the rights and achievements of the individuals and groups are valued and recognised.

We currently have 10 classes:

*NB: Students in Muttersprachler classes are required to be able to read and write in German first.
