We are a community school operating from 9am to 12pm on Saturday mornings during the school year. The school offers classes for German language and DACHL (Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Liechtenstein) cultures and has about 160 students from kindergarten to upper high school, currently in about 12 classes. The German Saturday School has been operating for over 150 years and over a decade on the current site. The GSS caters for a range of German language abilities and has recently redeveloped its curriculum based on the Victorian Curriculum F–10. The school is qualified to offer the German Language Diploma exam, Deutsches Sprachdiplom, at Level I and is a member of the PASCH – Schools: Partners for the Future network.
A position has become available to teach our Year 5 class, commencing 2 June 18.
What we are looking for:
Qualified teachers of German or professionals without teaching qualifications but with experience in teaching German language
Fluent speaker of German with an extensive understanding of German culture
A high level of written and verbal communication skills and a high level of interpersonal skills including the capacity to develop constructive relationships with students, parents and other staff
