I hope you have all been enjoying a little bit of our new-found freedom. I just want to provide you with a quick update on our current situation regarding remote learning and a possible return to face-to-face learning in Term 4.
While the Victorian Government has advised that schools can begin a staged return to on-site schooling, community schools have not yet been included in this program and it is not clear when this will change. To give you some certainty and based on the government directions, we will continue with our online classes for, at least, the next three weeks:
- Saturday, 30 October ‘21 – remote learning
- Saturday, 6 November ‘21 – remote learning
- Saturday, 13 November ‘21 – remote learning
Unfortunately, as has been the case for the last 18 months, since everything is subject to change at relatively short notice, we are unable to plan ahead for more than three weeks.
We will always do our best to keep you updated of any changes as and when they happen, but in the meantime please remember to stay vigilant and to continue to look after yourself and each other.
As you will appreciate, we are reviewing all school events in the light of the current restrictions in place and as a result we have decided to cancel our yearly Family Day, which normally takes place in Term 4.
Moreover, we are hopeful that we can go ahead with our Goethe Institut’s Fit in Deutsch 1+2 exams at a later date in Term 4.
We are confident that the end of the year Christmas celebration and get-together will proceed and have reserved the Austrian Club in Heidelberg for 18 December ’21. So please keep this date free in your calendar as it would be wonderful to see everyone face-to-face before the end of the academic year.
May I take this opportunity, as ever, to say thank you for all your support and to say how excited we all are to see you all some time in the not so distant future!
