We welcome you to join our amazing German language community.

The German Saturday School offers classes from Kindergarten through to VCE support classes for school aged children.

Lesson occur each Saturday during school term at Clifton Hill Primary School. Lessons begin at 9am and conclude at 12 noon. Please refer to our calendar for specific class dates and planned events.

School fees

2026 fees are $1030 annually, with fees paid quarterly.

Enrolments are for the entire year with fees payable each school term (quarterly). Where joining the school in the middle of the term, fees are calculated on a pro rata basis.

A 10% discount is applied where enrolling three or more children from your family.

Trial classes

We offer two obligation-free trial classes, allowing your child to attend the German Saturday School on two consecutive weekends to see whether the class suits them. Please note that prior registration is mandatory, as we require your child’s medical details and emergency contacts on record when they attend the school. You will not incur any fees if you let us know after these trials that you do not wish to proceed with a regular enrolment.

Class information

Our Kindergarten class is open to students who will be 4 years old by April 30 of the school year.

Students joining secondary level classes 7-12 require previous German language experience to an above-beginner level. We currently do not offer adult classes.

Other practical information

  • The School is easiest accessed via the Page Street entrance, with classrooms directly opposite the entrance

  • Students have a snack / play break within their lesson time.

  • Students are requested to bring to class:

    • Snack for recess and water bottle

    • Exercise book and stationary (or a scrapbook for younger years)

    • Hat and sunscreen (self applied) as appropriate for warmer weather

As the school is an Not For Profit organisation, we apply for the Community Language School Funding Program through the Victorian Department of Education. We may reach our to parents/guardians to confirm their enrolment for our grant applications.
